“Tussen Wal en Schip” (2024) is a feature-length documentary, directed by Juliette Dominicus and Sven Peetoom, and produced by Interakt. In the film, we follow three Indo-Dutch grandchildren as they return with their grandparent to the ports where they first set foot in the Netherlands. Through a journey into history, the grandchildren attempt, for the first time, to break the silence surrounding the Indo-Dutch past, addressing themes such as survival, colonialism, and secrets.
The film will have its world premiere at the Netherlands Film Festival 2024, and will be released in Dutch cinemas in 2025.
